Responsible for driving organizational strategy, planning and execution for Wells customer-facing supply chain leadership, specifically in the retail grocery and out-of-home channels. Builds direct customer relationships with strategic business partners, and leads a team to develop and enhance supply chain collaboration with customers to improve efficiency, effectiveness and end-to-end execution.

Responsibilities Include

  • Able to penetrate key account supply chain business teams and build collaborative relationships, driving customer-specific supply chain strategies that translates supply chain needs and deploys applicable solutions for mutually beneficial operational efficiencies.
  • Becomes expert on customer supply chain information – from policies to inventory to operations – and is able to utilize to support Wells internal teams in effective supply chain management.
  • Partners internally with Wells functional leaders in Demand and Supply Planning, Procurement, Sales, Marketing, Shared Services and Logistics; represents customer-specific performance issues and collaboratively develops short and long-term solutions with our partners to improve our customer supply chain results.
  • Leads development of customer-facing supply chain KPI’s; provides regular reporting, analysis and leads action plans to optimize results and impact related to fill rates, on-time deliver, inventory management, and overall customer service levels.
  • Leads communication to Wells sales teams and customers regarding supply chain issues impacting performance; Responsible for identifying and implementing processes and resources/tools necessary to improve communication and real-time information flow to both internal and external business partners.
  • Leads a team as player-coach, responsible for Wells top strategic customers individually, while also supporting and developing a team that shares the same customer-specific supply chain executional accountabilities with additional customers
  • Bachelor’s degree; preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, Statistics, Operations Research, or other quantitative business discipline. MBA preferred.
  • 8-10 years of experience in Customer Supply Chain preferably within a CPG industry; direct forecasting, and modeling preferred; 2-3 years of experience in people leadership.
  • Proficient understanding of fundamental business management and supply chain principles and concepts. Thorough grasp of key internal and customer forecasting, order generation, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Effective communication skills with an ability to collaborate cross functionally, build relationships and excel in a team environment are essential; solid negotiation and customer relationship management skills required.
  • Demonstrated analytical approach to management of supply chain interface between supplier and the customer, root-causing constraints and service issues, and providing solutions.
  • Strong people leadership skills.
  • Ability to understand impact of decisions and changes on end to end supply chain and to convert strategy into results, able to quickly identify and resolve problems.
  • Ability to assist in strategic planning and establishing operational goals.
  • Ability to build strong relationships internal and external to the business.
  • Will lead a team of Customer Supply Chain Managers supporting Retail and Out of Home customers.
