Head of Sales, UK & Ireland

(Permanent Full-Time)


The Sales Manager, UK & Ireland is fully accountable for the leadership and direction of the market Sales organization by actively developing teams and people. She/he is responsible to lead the sales team to drive excellent brand and retail execution across all channels with the aim of setting, meeting and exceeding the overall targets (financial & people). She/he is accountable for delivering exceptional client experience, brand visibility and operational excellence, thanks to the proper planning and implementation of the Vacheron Constantin Distribution, Merchandising & Analysis, Retail and Training strategy.

Key Responsibilities


  • Manage the sales, teams, performance and operations of the UK retail network (2 internal boutiques in London, 2 external boutiques in Leeds and Edinburgh)
  • Drive the achievement of annual sales target by delivering sell-out and stock management targets and ensuring merchandising guidelines are properly implemented, including proactive management of scarcity and stock allocation to end clients and partners to elevate client experience and build long term brand success
  • Ensure Boutiques’ utmost client experience as per brand guidelines and in line with industry’s highest standards (implementation, team leadership, staff training, monitoring, mystery shopping etc.)
  • Manage retail performance with boutique managers, thanks to robust formulation, monitoring, analysis and reporting of performance indicators
  • Ensure retail operational excellence, implement retail and regulatory compliance guidelines set by the Vacheron Constantin or Richemont and control the proper execution, propose and conduct continuous improvements, oversee billing and payments
  • Ensure qualitative After Sales execution in order to guarantee excellent customer service standard
  • Implement Omni-channel strategy, including the management of local pilot projects and follow-up in coordination with headquarters
  • Supervise and lead the boutique teams to achieve above objectives (including commission scheme strategy and implementation, incentives etc)
  • Coordinate with Marketing to build brand equity through retail and drive sales opportunities
  • By working closely with the Boutique managers and CRM team, initiate activities to acquire new clients, develop local clientele and nurture existing clientele to develop brand loyalty (REACT)
  • Ensure that boutique staff is properly using customer database: thorough client data recording and sales information to guarantee follow-up activities, maximise sales opportunities and build loyalty (return clients), in full compliance with data protection regulation and Group guidelines
  • Act as a facilitator between UK Head Office, Boutiques and HQ Retail Department
  • Act as a brand ambassador during brand / Boutique events and meetings


  • Drive the achievement of annual sales target by delivering the expected sell-in, sell-out, stock management
  • Support retailers to realise their full sell-out potential : annual action plan, merchandising, special allocations, training, incentives
  • Manage the analysis of stock, sell-in and sell-out to create proper sales forecasting (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) and adequate action plans, support local and HQ management with performance reports and insights
  • Manage the day-to-day relationship between Vacheron Constantin UK and its network of authorised retailers, ensuring a high level of customer service and reactivity
  • By working closely with the accounts and with Vacheron Constantin teams, achieve the best brand visibility to support sales in line with allocated budget, brand expectations and retailers programmes
  • Support trade marketing activities, define commercial needs to determine the trade activation plan
  • Organise and conduct regular training sessions for retailer’s staff (on site at POS, off site in the UK and Switzerland), and nurture the relationship with sales ambassadors and key contacts
  • Monitor and stay informed on actions and plans of the competition
  • Support and monitor retailers eCommerce within brand and Group’s guidelines
  • Visit point of sales on a regular basis to ensure quality standards (visual, assortment, ad-hoc training etc.) and strong relationship with POS sales staff and management
  • Participate to wholesale brand promotion activities (events, manufacture visits etc.), acting as a Brand Ambassador
  • Support all members of the UK team giving regular updates on the distribution network


  • Build high performing teams: Attract people with a winning attitude to succeed; develop and drive individual and team performance through an open feedback culture. Responsible for identifying top and rising talents and developing them in collaboration with HR and HQ.
  • Provide leadership and direction for the teams ensuring they have clarity and are enabled to successfully drive and support the overall company direction.
  • Set individual objectives and KPI’s, provide guidance and conduct regular appraisals of team members, ensuring the proper development of personnel and supporting the growth of talents


  • Previous experience in retail in the luxury industry
  • Demonstrated results in identifying and negotiating business opportunities
  • Proactive and qualitative result-oriented
  • Customer and service focus, great interpersonal skills, diplomacy
  • Excellent organisation, strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Enthusiastic leader and team player
  • Fluency in English, French a plus
  • Computer literate (knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to travel (mainly in the UK and to Switzerland)
