As the Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for complete ownership and elevation of the accounting function, meeting all deliverables by the CFO in this growing licensing company. At Trevco, we Think Differently, this role will be at the center of driving the function forward while interacting with several key stakeholders from multiple departments such as I.T, Licensing, Production, and Supply Chain.

You will also be responsible for a wide range of activities, including day-to-day accounting responsibilities, driving accounting initiatives, the establishment of the company’s accounting infrastructure, and a variety of special projects, most notably involving our ERP system, NetSuite. This opportunity has a strong upside and will expand with the company as we scale.

In the First Month you will…

  • Learn about Trevco’s product offerings, controls, revenue streams and other related matters.
  • Immediately dive into NetSuite, learning about our systems workflow, reporting and integrations.
  • Learn about the preparation and oversight of the Budgeting and Forecasting processes with the end goal of owning its execution.
  • Take an assessment of internal controls and oversee creation and maintenance of accounting procedures, policies, and tools.
  • Maintain fixed assets inventory, accruals, and account reconciliations.

Sharpen your skills in Month 2 by…

  • Ensuring month-end closing is completed on time and accurately (financial statements clearly reflect all activities for the month including booking accruals).
  • Analyzing and explaining monthly results/KPIs, including additional analysis as needed for reporting periods (half-year, year-end) and quarterly performance reviews with CFO and other Executive Management and including pricing, profitability, marketplace fees, and shipping reconciliations.
  • Examining actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs and providing reports to management. Making recommendations on product pricing changes.

Execute in Month 3 by…

  • Taking lead on all FP&A projects as it relates to other department stakeholders, representing the finance team as a business driver.
  • Supporting reporting requirements for tax (corporate, sales tax, etc.), other external audit requests, debt compliance, etc. as needed.
  • Co-leading inventory control, (cycle counts) counting process including year-end inventory counts.
  • Leading the effort towards NetSuite customization for multi-division business with multiple products to be utilized in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ensuring timely and accurate compliance with all financial reporting, tax reporting and regulatory filing requirements.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, business management is preferred
  • CPA/CMA preferred
  • 5-10 years’ experience in finance/accounting
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and SOX required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of technology-related software (i.e. Microsoft Office products) – Especially Microsoft Excel
  • Expert in NetSuite ERP
  • Critical thinking skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage and prioritize considerable workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced and growing environment
