Basic Scope & Primary Objectives

We are looking for an experienced operations professional who can help with the delivery of THE’s dynamic offering for prospective international students among universities in the US, Canada, UK, Australia and beyond.

Reporting to the Operations Director, it is a great opportunity to help scope, design and deliver the implementation of the proposition. The successful candidate will be responsible for specific operational projects, ensuring the team has the right infrastructure and processes in place to support our sustainable growth.

You will lead the coordination of activities that affect strategic operational decisions and business requirements, also having responsibility for the planning and communication with members of the team and external stakeholders to help ensure deliverables are achieved.

The core role of the Operations Manager is to support on the delivery of commercial projects while establishing excellent working relationships with other internal teams, as well as managing a range of activities designed to raise awareness of the proposition with our target audiences. You will be a core part of a collaborative and passionate team at THE Student, and will be trusted to engage university clients, partners and companies on behalf of Times Higher Education (THE), one of the best-known brands in higher education globally.

Key Responsibilities

Projects and Processes

  • Working with the senior team at THE, lead on the prioritisation, planning and delivery of strategic projects
  • Assist and at times manage the implementation of commercial commitments with clients, ensuring a coordinated approach with the relevant teams responsible for the fulfilment of deliverables
  • Oversee a range of standard operating procedures for the team for the delivery of projects, ensuring that these are updated according to business needs

Lead Generation

  • Assist in the delivery of promotional campaigns of THE Student B2B opportunities across all digital channels and through third parties, with a focus on lead generation.
  • Project manage B2B masterclasses from planning to delivery, working with key members of the THE team to schedule, and develop content.
  • Project manage the development of innovative and original B2B marketing collateral / thought leadership pieces, leveraging unparalleled insights and data from THE’s student community panel and databases.
  • Consolidate and maintain a database of B2B leads for the sales team to ensure a coordinated approach is taken when engaging them.
  • Segment leads and develop workflows to ensure that regular, tailored communications are sent.

Reporting

  • Produce operational reports that demonstrate the impact of lead-generation activities upon sales.
  • Maintain up to date records on the team’s expenditure
  • Maintain regular trackers of operational project implementations to ensure senior management, relevant teams and clients have visibility of ownership, milestones, dependencies and performance against KPIs

Person Specification

Essential Skills/Qualifications

  • At least 3 years’ experience or equivalent in the management and delivery of projects
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Effectively able to organise and prioritise tasks and projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication with the ability to engage internal and external customers.
  • Personable, and unafraid of reaching out to contacts in order to establish a relationship and gain support
  • Effective people skills to build trust and rapport, a team player
  • Willingness to work in a “start-up” environment, where all members of the team are prepared to roll up their sleeves.

Desirable Skills/Qualification

  • Direct Higher Education or international student recruitment experience.
