Regional Quality Assurance Manager, Permanent role,
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom
Role Summary:
Based at any one of the regional manufacturing facilities, the EMA Regional Quality Manager provides expert leadership and guidance to our Company’s Valve Division facilities (FCD) in EMA and the global FCD Platform leadership regarding all Quality regulatory, policy, best practice, and procedural matters.
Responsible for delivery and execution of Quality strategy, programs, and policies for Company and for developing these skills and quality mindsets within the Quality and Operations community.
Responsibilities & Requirements
In this role, you will:
Champion culture change – lead with purpose, core values, and behaviors to promote and fully imbed a Zero Defect mindset within all employees across Company.
In support of Companies overall Quality Strategy, support development and deployment of the FCD (Flow Control Division) Quality Strategy including programs, plans, policies, and procedures to ensure and go beyond basic compliance requirements and adopt best practices that enable the highest levels of customer satisfaction and on-time-delivery.
Support the implementation of an enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS) to integrate legacy siloed systems to track and reduce nonconformance to specifications, standards, and customer expectations in the most efficient manner possible.
Promote and implement consistent accountability actions and mindset across all FCD facilities globally, such that all employees understand and meet Quality expectations.
Support Companies development and implementation of the Zero Defect Program across the entire enterprise.
Lead standardization efforts to ensure all facilities within FCD operate under the same policies and procedures and are measured by the same performance metrics in alignment with global procedures.
Provide guidance, coaching, mentoring, development, and leadership for direct/matrix Quality team within FCD.
Manage and support the implementation of Quality Training in FCD facilities.
Prepare and analyze meaningful Quality performance metrics, prepare reports, and make recommendations to senior management with a focus on actions to improve, both on specific situations and systemic trends.
Assess the impact of regulatory changes that affect operations, raise awareness, and ensure compliance.
Use project management tools to ensure effective and timely completion of project milestones.
Interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, Material Management, HSE, Lean, and Project Management.
Use detailed process mapping tools to define and analyze quality management workflows.
Interact with the functional areas including manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, production, and field serviceepair to evaluate failure trends, product quality problems, and quality issues.
Evaluate existing quality processes and systems at the site, platform, and global level for effectiveness and improvement opportunities.
Define and execute quality system deployment plans given multiple system deployments with other functions (ERP, PLM, SIOP, etc.).
Communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with a wide variety of customers including both internal and external to Company. Communicate effectively with associates at all levels, from the factory floor to executives at Company and Customers.
Coach and develop others to perform effective data analysis and root cause analysis.
Requirements for the role:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering field (manufacturing, industrial, or mechanical)
8 years Quality Management experience, including engineered-to-order environments
3 years in management of multi-national teams (operations, quality, supply chain, etc)
Experience in industrial precision product manufacturing, aerospace manufacturing, or medical device manufacturing
Quality Management Systems (ISO 9001) management experience
Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and API quality management systems
Experience in QMS development and deployment
Skilled in CAPA and RCA tools and able to teach and coach these concepts, especially 8D, 3×5 Whys, and Fishbone
Skilled in data analysis and quality KPI performance management
Experience in Quality Software Systems Development and Management
Lead Auditor Certified
Organizational and planning skills
Experience in Procedure Management
Supplier Quality Management Experience
BB Certification or Equivalent Certification/Experience
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Preferred Experience / Skills
All of the following are desired, but not essential additional experience and skills. Candidates possessing some or all of them will strengthen their application
Experience in pump, valve, and seals manufacturing
MBB certification and experience
Experience with European and Asia/Pacific nuclear standards
Nuclear Quality Management experience
Experience with 10CFR Part 21, 10CFR Part 50 Appendix B, ASME nuclear certificates, ASME NQA-1, CSA CAN3-Z299 / N299, NCA-3800, NCA-4000, RCCM, KEPIC, 50-C-Q, ?and ASME BPVC Section III
