Treasury’s Corporate Banking department has an opening for a Senior Treasury Associate on the Liquidity Operations team.

Liquidity Operations is made up of two teams: Cash Management and Capital Markets (CMG) Operations. Cash Management is responsible for managing the firm’s short-term liquidity, which includes: preparing short term cash investment calculations based on forecasts and historical trends, concentrating funds for investment, reconciling forecasts to actuals and analyzing variances, preparing short term cash flow reports and acting as liaison between banks and Prudential businesses. CMG Operations is responsible for the operational support of Prudential’s various financing facilities, including long-term and short-term debt programs, as well as Inter-Affiliate loans.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to the learn roles and responsibilities of both teams with the focus on CMG Operations .

Major Responsibilities, include:

  • Provide oversight of Prudential Financial and Prudential Funding’s daily cash positions and the communication of affiliate’s funding needs to Capital Market’s traders
  • Review daily bank reconciliations and trade settlements
  • Provide operational support to internal business partners to address their borrowing needs and ensure appropriate affiliate borrowing documentation is on file
  • Calculating daily cash positions based on business unit / investment forecasts and historical trends.
  • Making investment related decisions based on forecasts and trends.
  • Communicating with banks and various Prudential businesses to investigate and resolve transaction and account balance issues
  • Initiating wire transfers to concentrate funds for investment and to fund operating and investment activity
  • Ensure operating process adheres to corporate policy
  • Review areas of risk and define/implement security and control measures
  • Ensure timely updates of policies, procedures and Sarbanes Oxley documentation
  • Participate in development, testing and implementation of enhancements to debt management system, ATOM
  • Assist with the operational implementation, coordination and settlement of new internal loan activity
  • Assist with review and enhancement of internal business processes, including leveraging technology to further automate processes

Critical Skills & Capabilities:

  • Must possess strong written and oral communications skills
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple task
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics or Business Administration
  • Minimum 1-2 years related work experience in cash management, investment operations or finance.
  • Knowledge of capital markets operations including short-term debt and investment instruments desirable
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a team environment
  • Possess strong Microsoft Office skills
  • This position requires a start time of 8:00 AM and the flexibility to work additional hours, if needed.

The position is located in Newark, New Jersey.

One of the responsibilities of this position includes approval of wire transfers. In accordance with the Treasurer’s Policies, any candidate selected for this position will be required to submit to an extensive background and credit check.   • Note: Prudential is required by Colorado law to include the salary range for this role when hiring a Colorado resident. Salary range specific to Colorado: $57,100.00-$77,300 + discretionary incentive bonus + benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
