Senior Quantity Surveyor Up to £55,000 South Wales projects Monday – Friday (Days) MUST HAVE MAIN CONTRACTOR EXPERIENCE Are you an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor looking for a days based position with the opportunity to work on major projects throughout South Wales? The company are a highly respected industry leader in their field who provide multi-discipline services to clients across all sectors of Construction. Due to a securing several new Housing Association projects they are looking to expand their team with a Senior Quantity Surveyor. They are able to provide a position enabling you to play an integral role in company growth. Your duties as a Senior QS will be to manage the commercial resources of the assigned projects to maximise forecast gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts and to assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks through the implementation of the company’s policies for risk management. The Role:

  • Senior Quantity Surveyor: Site surveys to produce detailed specifications, Valuations, variations, controlling the commercial elements of the role
  • Site / Office / Remote working split
  • Available to start ASAP
  • Oversee commercial responsibility for 2-4 projects valued between £3m and £15m. Number of projects would depend upon size and complexity, the company are very diverse in the nature of the construction projects undertaken, which for example could be Private house building, social housing/apartments, office buildings, retail/pub refurbishments, hotels etc.
  • Whilst the majority of the sites/projects are in South Wales, there may be a requirement to travel around Cardiff, Newport, Swansea & Bridgend The Person
  • Minimum Qualification of HNC/HND in Construction/Civil Engineering
  • Experience working as a QS with leading or recognised companies/contractors
  • Multiple project experience with values £500k to £10m
  • Broad range of sector experience
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Good working knowledge of excel formulas and spreadsheets
  • Good knowledge of contract conditions and law within the Construction Industry
  • Sound knowledge of all forms of contracts but specifically JCT D&B would be an advantage
  • Experience of working collaboratively with supply chain
  • Seeks opportunities to improve on provided information for commercial or practical benefit.
  • Works in a proactive manner to build client relationships and is responsive to customer needs
