Evolve IT’s global payment-processor client are undergoing another large period of growth and as a result are looking for an ambitious Technical Documentation Manager with a passion for technology and a proven track record of creating world-class documentation while driving standards in a high-performance team. Our client are looking for candidates who are happy to join their team on a fully-remote and permanent contract basis. Since breaking into the UK market our client has acquired 5 new companies and are continuing to propel forward. The successful Technical Documentation Manager will need an innovative and enthusiastic mindset. This role will require a hands-on approach to leading a small team of dedicated technical writers. You will be heavily involved in the day to day management and take responsibility for driving high standards of technical authorship. Within this role you will assist with the implementation and refining of effective methods with a cross-functional perspective. Your Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establishing relationships with content leaders within other departments to create a cohesive and efficient company structure
  • Work with Product Management, Marketing, and Engineering to produce and maintain world-class documentation
  • Participate in creating the developer ecosystem initially focusing on API documentation, tutorials and samples
  • Enforce all aspects of the technical documentation life cycle
  • Publish and maintain templates for written documentation produced by others ensuring a consistent standard
  • Select and rollout authoring, style guides, documentation management, and standards.
  • Continuously develop the operating metrics and adapt your plans accordingly based on insights from new data
  • Manage and prioritise the team member workloads and project resourcing within a fast-paced environment The successful Technical Documentation Manager will have;
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related subject or relevant market experience
  • Proven track record as a technical writer
  • Successful team management experience preferably of technical writers
  • Strong experience within each stage of the technical documentation life cycle addressing each critical element
  • Expertise of screen capturing and editing tools such as; Paligo, Adobe Framemaker, MS Word, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Adobe Captivate, Snagit
  • Experience documenting of one of the following technologies: REST, SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript, GO or .NET
  • Strong knowledge of current web technologies: browsers, Servers, XML/XSL or protocols
  • Communicate complex technical elements in an easy-to-understand way to a novice
  • Adept at articulating complex technology to non-technological stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and ambitious with the desire to motivate others and cultivate a collaborative environment while driving high standards
  • Critical and innovative approach to methods, tasks and situations with an aptitude for solving complex problems
  • Ability to prioritise personal and team workload to reach targets
  • Highly organised and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. In return our client will offer a fantastic salary of up to £75,000 per annum and an award winning benefits package which includes unlimited holiday leave, critical illness cover worth 75% of the salary until retirement, medical insurance and life insurance. All of these fantastic benefits are in addition to flexible home-working format with £500 budget to create the ideal home office for you, our client will also offer £60p/m remote working allowance on top of your salary to assist with any other work-from-home needs.
