Hobson Prior are currently looking for an Accounting Team Leader to join a brilliant biotech organisation on a permanent basis. Our client is focused on life-changing solutions within several therapeutic areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • For this role, you will be accountable for organising the end of month close of financial ledgers and prepare the financial statements for the allocated entities. This is to guarantee the compliance with the appropriate accounting standards as well as displaying it to the CFO for signing.
  • Make sure that Journal entries are formed and posted, as well as the conduct of SAP month-end doings as per Month-end calendar.
  • Warrant achievement of BFC reporting (Intercompany, Inventory, Financial Reporting) to Group targets.
  • Certify that the monthly Balance Sheet settlements are all accomplished.
  • You will handle the daily tasks of Direct Report in the allotted General Accounting team, making sure all members of the team are conscious of their responsibilities, when targets need to be met and obligations.
  • Oversee operation and progress of Direct Reports which involves Objectives setting, achievement of Performance Reviews and construction of Development Plans. Offer development and training opportunities.
  • Guarantee that there is back-up and cover for all tasks by sustaining a strong Accounting function. An example of this would be using training matrices. Co-ordinate training and form and utilise a periodic job rotation. You will make sure that operative onboarding processes exist.
  • Assist in the planning and distribution of the Shared Service Centre Operational Review Meetings.
  • As the Accounting Team Leader, you will be responsible for forming relationships with clients via periodic in-person gatherings.
  • Guarantee that a passable and effectual system of internal controls is in place through risk management and seclusion of obligations, which is in compliance with the suitable financial control standards.
  • Draw attention to local ideas and process improvement activities to progress function and proficiency.
  • The ideal candidate will always conduct appointed tasks whilst complying to existing GMP needs.
  • You will report any compliance worries to your line-manager or Quality Assurance Compliance.
  • You must always raise any concerns on Health and Safety to your line manager or to the EHS team to ensure a consistently safe operating manner.
  • Any other assigned duties.

Key Skills

  • Possess team management and organisational skills.
  • You are customer-focused oriented.


  • Certified Accountant with at least 3 years of experience in a managerial role and at least 7 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in the English language and ideally capable in another European language.
  • Expert in Accounting, Tax and Internal Control.
  • Solid aptitude in SAP and Microsoft Offices (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledgeable in process improvement apparatuses and methods.
