This position holds accountability for accurate and timely entry of detailed Medical Records information into the ECL indexing system. This position is a hybrid and will work between home and office in Walnut Creek, CA.


  • Accountable for data entry and scanning of medical records information into the ECL system to include indexing by Injured Worker and categorizing by appropriate record types
  • Entering correspondence and medical bills into the KwikTag scanning system;
  • Monitoring the Claims Department assignment group within the EDDG system
  • Monitoring the Claims Bills email box to print out and distribute incoming documents
  • Assist with responding to requests from Clinical Operations for copies of bills and explanation of reimbursements
  • Tracks and reports production, downtime, issues and trends.
  • May be responsible for special projects


  • Education: High School Diploma required; successful completion of continuing education in insurance, medical terminology/coding preferable.
  • Experience: 1 year customer service experience or administrative experience. Medical record working knowledge a plus
  • Intermediate computer experience on MS Word, MS Excel & MS Outlook necessary. Typing speed of 50 WPM. Excellent organizational skills. Prior experience reviewing and indexing medical records
  • Language Skills: Excellent oral communication skills and phone presence. Ability to effectively present information to providers as well as to employees of the organization.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
