Description:

The Accountant II is responsible for performing general ledger account and bank statement reconciliation, preparing journal entries, expenditures reporting, preparing statistical and financial reports, maintaining records retention, and assisting the Controller in preparation of adhoc tasks. The Account II reports to Controller.

Additional job duties for Account II

  • Complete multiple bank reconciliations
  • Upload positive pay checks to the bank
  • Assist with monthly closing and prepare various journal entries
  • Prepare monthly financials for IHG management company
  • Set up new users for Concur Expense Reimbursement System
  • Maintain fixed assets for IHG
  • Assist with monthly financial analysis and reporting
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations
  • Maintain reportseconciliations on our MotionMD inventory system for DME
  • Serve as backup for Accounts Payable
  • Review AP batches entered by two AP specialists
  • Assist with annual audit requests
  • Reconcile vendor statements and assist with research and resolve routine internal and external inquiries concerning particular invoices or account status, including communicating the resolution of discrepancies to appropriate persons
  • Assist with other administrative projects, tasks and ad hoc reporting as requested or needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Accounting from accredited college/university
  • 4 years accounting experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office – must have some excel skills (pivots & Vlookups)
  • Experience with Great Plains required
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
  • Must be detailed oriented, a quick learner and must have excellent organizational skills
  • Must have the ability to work independently
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill
  • Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to follow direction and follow up on pending issues
