About the job

Reporting to VP of Controlling, Data Science & Insights this role is about:

Collaborate closely with different teams across Commercial functions to drive financially viable products or commercial initiatives with strong impact on Profit & Loss, while focusing on salesevenue analytics tasks ranging from opportunity sizing to insight generation to performance evaluation to extracting additional value from existing initiatives by tapping into multiple data sources.

Independently drive analyses on a regular basis by understanding key drivers impacting core business metrics to assist senior management with solid decision making.

  • Gain an understanding of Omio’s and function’s top-line metrics and KPIs; report weekly to senior commercial stakeholders on their evolution, detect anomalies, evaluate key drivers and diagnose root cause of an issue

  • Build dashboards to support efficient dissemination of the above trends

  • Work alongside commercial team to draw insights on performance of key commercial metrics related to inventory, funnel conversions, bookings, basket size, take rates, etc. across markets

  • Build forecasting models to understand gaps in current performance and salesevenue optimization models to enhance margins without negatively impacting user experience

  • Perform statistical analyses – including A/B tests and pre/post analyses

  • Correlate marketing/product/commercial data to derive key insights

  • Work with our data engineering/business intelligence teams to build data models, which best summarize and utilize our production data

  • Spot, highlight and initiate actions on emerging and existing risks related to liabilities and open positions with customers (for example, insurance products, cancellation liabilities, etc.)

  • Act as an advocate of our company’s data-driven culture: produce reports that are actionable, dashboards that are diagnostic, and recommendations that drive growth

  • Contribute to high impact growth initiatives by working alongside VP Commercial and Chief Commercial Officer as well as assist with ad-hoc requests

Qualifications

Ideal profile for this role will be someone who:

  • Has University degree in Business, Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a similar field; 6+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in e-commerce, consultancy or banking/finance.

  • Is passionate about working with numbers; you hold excellent analytical skills, have confidence in working with large data sets and are an expert in SQL and Excel/Google sheets (R/Python is a plus)

  • Are fluent in English; additional languages are always valued at Omio

  • Is a team player with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Has a solution oriented approach to problem solving
