Job Brief

  • We are looking for a Java Developer with experience in building high-performing, scalable, enterprise-grade applications.
  • You will be part of a talented international software team that works on high-volume, low-latency, mission-critical applications.
  • Your roles and responsibilities include analyzing user requirements and business objectives, determining application features and functionality, recommending changes to existing Java-based applications, and managing Java/Java EE application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.
  • Your primary responsibility will be to design and develop these applications, and to coordinate with the rest of the team working on different layers of the infrastructure.
  • This includes anything between complex groups of back-end services and their client-end (desktop and mobile) counterparts.
  • Besides that, you need to compile detailed technical documentation and user assistance material, requiring excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Thus, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and product quality are essential.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsibilities
  • Able to work independently.

  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional applications.
  • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable Java code.
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the applications.
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and devise solutions to these problems.
  • Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization.
  • Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications.
  • Debugging and resolving technical problems that arise.
  • Producing detailed design documentation.
  • Recommending changes to existing Java infrastructure.
  • Able to review peer work and give feedback.
  • Communication horizontally between the teammates.
  • Communication vertically with the onshore teammates and with the client managers (team).
  • Able to support test automation and dev-ops tasks.
  • Able to work with Scrum Master / Project Manager in task management.
  • Contributing to all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Ensuring continuous professional self-development.

What You Know

  • Proven hands-on Software Development experience of 7-10 yrs excluding internship experience or any other prior experience before graduation.
  • Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English with presentation and demonstration skills.
  • Ability to understand and draw design diagrams using UML and other standard techniques.
  • Proficient in Java 8 (at least), with complete knowledge of its ecosystems inc. Streams, Future, Modules, Advance Collection, I/O classes, etc.
  • Solid understanding of data structures, design patterns, object-oriented programming, continuous integration, continuous delivery, continuous deployment, all automation types including functional, integration, contractual, and end-to-end UI automation.
  • Excellent knowledge of various design, architectural, concurrency, resilience, and communication patterns.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in working with client-server and distributed architectures including MVC, monolithic, J2EE, Microservice Architecture (MSA), and serverless architecture.
  • Good understanding of the fundamental design principles behind a scalable and fault-tolerant application.
  • Good understanding of JVM, its limitations, weaknesses, and workarounds.
  • Good experience in the Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring RESTAPIs, Spring Security, Spring JPA, Spring Batch, Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS frameworks/libraries, etc.
  • Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience in working with relational databases, SQL, and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate).

Good_To_Have:

  • Experience with unit tests using JUnit, Mochito, and other related tools.
  • Experience with test-driven development with coverage tools such as JoCoCo.
  • Experience with static code analyzers such as Sonar Qube.
  • Experience with relational and NoSQL database systems such as MySQL, MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, etc.
  • Experience with message brokers such as ActiveMQ, Kafka, etc.
  • Experience with templating engines such as Thymeleaf, Quartz, email, and messaging frameworks, and other functional libraries.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with automation frameworks such as RestAssured, TestNG, Cucumber, JMeter, Gatling, etc.
  • Expert in GIT, Maven, Gradle, and other versioning and build tools.
  • Able to operate teams on JIRA, and execute scrum processes.
  • Experience with Spring Cloud, Netflix OSS, and other MSA frameworks/libraries.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Groovy, Javascript/Typescript, etc.
  • Familiarity with ElasticStack, Solr, Kibana dashboard implementation.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.

Education

  • 4-year degree (Computer Science, Information Systems, or relational functional field) and/or equivalent combination of education or work experience.
