Job Title: Biologist Technician

Location: Bethesda, MD 20892

Duration: 3 Years to Long Term

Working Hours: 40 Hours/Week (Mon to Fri)

  • Under this task order, the contractor will independently provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives.
  • The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services.


The contractor shall be guided by existing policies, procedures, directions, orders, and other guidance:

  • Perform cell culture of cell lines, primary cells and induced pluripotent stem cell lines.
  • Perform molecular biology laboratory experiments and studies, including transfection, cloning, CRISPR/Cas9 editing.
  • Perform flow cytometry, ELISA and analyze the results.
  • Perform DNA and RNA extractions, PCR, RT-PCR.
  • Perform Interferon stimulation of cells and pSTAT assays.
  • Perform bacterial culturing and sterile technique.
  • Manage storage, tracking, and retrieval of human blood and other tissues; maintain specimens and information in accordance with laboratory procedures and regulations.
  • Process and organize multiple samples simultaneously.
  • Maintain and update laboratory notebooks and databases.
  • Collect data, perform data analysis.
  • Provide materials for clinical biospecimen collection as point of contact between clinical and laboratory-based staff.
  • Attend laboratory meetings to report research outcomes.
  • Organize and maintain a clean and safe working space.
  • Collaborate with other personnel to perform experiments related to ongoing research projects.


Upon request, the contractor shall provide documentation evidence of any and/or all work product, including, but not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Work products and documents related to performing laboratory experiments and studies, most commonly DNA preparation and PCR of easily contaminated samples, transfection, gene editing, flow cytometry results
  • Work products and documents related to storing and maintaining cell lines.
  • Work products and documents related to maintaining and updating laboratory notebooks and databases; collecting data; performing data analysis; attending meetings to report research outcomes.
  • Work products and documents related to calibrating and operating a variety of laboratory instruments.

Certification, License, or other Expertise Required:

  • Master’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences or a related discipline. Phd Preferred
  • Minimum of three (3) of years of experience in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Bio-technology or related fields.
