What You’ll Do

  • Develop a business plan for product(s) line including product new introductions, deletions, pricing, cost, packaging and merchandising.
  • Stays abreast of changes, analyzes and informs senior management of industry, product, economic, and other changes that may impact sales and overall company business; provides timely summary of activities in the field and special reporting to assist in the business and product planning.
  • Responsible for financial performance of product category to include sales volume, margins, profits, inventory, expenses and product programs. Develops short-and long-term plans and budgeting/forecasting. Develop and implement pricing and profit margin initiatives in order to achieve annual financial objectives.
  • Direct and lead new product development and improvements for current product line. Provide direction to and work closely with Product Development and Manufacturing teams to ensure Mohawk assets are compatible with product design.
  • Monitor industry and competitors to ensure Mohawk products are competitive in design, performance, price and quality.
  • Evaluates effectiveness of sales and marketing strategies and programs and make recommendations regarding changes necessary to achieve target goals.
  • Travel to regional and national markets as well as in the field with sales and customers to stay abreast of product issues and opportunities.
  • Establishes product quality and performance standards. Facilitates problem resolution related to product quality and supply chain issues. Leads improvement actions through management and production teams.
  • Develops relationships with vendors to provide best quality and the lowest cost.
  • Develops and delivers product presentations and sales tools to internal and external customers.
  • Maintains relationships with field personnel and helps resolve problems.
  • Manages a diverse work team and subordinate reporting levels

What You Have

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or business required. MBA preferred. Knowledge of finished building products and multi-brand development preferred.

Minimum of 8 years of progressive marketing and product management responsibility. Experience (or a sound understanding) in manufacturing and sales.

  • Ability to influence and foster teamwork at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Must be able to prioritize and delegate.
  • Must have strong/proven leadership and organizational skills.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, analyze, and draw conclusions from industry, general business and statistical and financial data.
  • Demonstrated innovation and creativity in developing effective sales and marketing strategies and tactics
