About the job
This position is responsible to assist in all human resource activities within the Grenada MS location while providing guidance, assistance and employee follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation in addition to helping resolve employee issues. The Human Resource Representative is active with internal and external recruiting processes, onboarding, disciplinary action tracking and compensation movements throughout the facility.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gathers, processes and maintains various forms such as applications, new hire onboarding and various other employee documents including file maintenance
- Maintains accurate records and is responsible for, maintaining, storing, and securing
employee records in accordance with company record retention policies
- Prepares and maintains company salary structure, job documentation, and job evaluation systems while processing pay changes throughout the facility for step up compensation increases, promotions, etc.
- Structures and conducts new hire employee orientation and onboarding
- Works closely with state and local officials to process OJT contracts as needed
- Drives the internal and external requisitioning process and jobs postings in addition to supporting the recruiting process both on and offsite if needed, in addition to supporting college recruiting and job fairs
- This position owns the internal bid process for hourly employees from posting to completion of the internal competitive bid selection process to include infancy to placement
- Reviews applications and coordinates or conducts interviews if needed
- Processes and maintains applicant background check processes and other required pre-employment clearances as needed
- Provides employee advice, assistance and follow-up on company policies, procedures, and documentation
- Maintains and tracks Affirmative Action data for plan submission
- Coordinates the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries
- Develops and recommends administrative operating policy and procedural improvements related to the position
- Maintains and supports the administration and tracking of all hourly employee disciplinary action processes
- The position may be assigned other duties as needed
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum (2 to 5) years’ experience in Human Resources, or equivalent.
- Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of the principles and procedures of Human Resources Management
- including, but not limited to, recruitment, selection, and employee development Ability to prioritize tasks and function in a fast pace work environment
- Excellent organizing and computer skills required
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration desired. An associate degree
in a similar business field in conjunction with prior relative work experience may be considered
Minimal – Prior Kronos, ADP, SAP or HRIS database system experience needed
Minimal – Must be highly reliable and organized while possessing excellent interpersonal and written
communication skills. Must have the ability to effectively function as a team player.
Minimal – Working understanding and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
