Job Description

Mazars in Edison, New Jersey, is recruiting an experienced Staff Accountant to join our Accounting and Advisory Services Group (A&A). As a Staff Accountant in this practice, you will be responsible for providing the highest levels of client service excellence while working with other professionals and interacting with valued clients. You will be responsible for preparing tax returns as well as assisting on reviews and compilations of financial statement engagements. The Accounting and Advisory Services Group offers customized services and solutions that address the financial needs of high net worth individuals and their families as well as of closely held businesses.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Provide compilation and review services to a variety of industries
  • Provide outsourcing functions (G/L, A/P, A/R, payroll, QuickBooks) as well as accounting assistance and oversight to closely held businesses
  • Prepare tax and financial projections
  • Prepare individual, partnership, corporate, payroll and sales tax returns (including general ledger analysis and tax closings)
  • Build and maintain client relationships focused on excellent client service
  • Engage in internal initiatives and training


  • An undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or Taxation
  • Active CPA license or actively pursuing CPA designation
  • 1-2 years of public accounting experience
  • Demonstrated focus on client deadlines and attention to detail
  • Willingness and ability to travel to client locations
  • Demonstrated focus on client deadlines and providing excellent client service
  • Proficiency in CCH Axcess Tax, QuickBooks, BNA and ProSystem Engagement is preferred but not required
