We currently have an exciting opportunity for a talented Principal Engineer – Rail to join our clients’ Rail NW & Central Business Unit, with options to be based in Birmingham, Manchester, or remote working for the right candidate. With Equality, Diversity and Inclusion central to our clients’ growth plans, we are looking for experienced Principal (Civil) Engineers, or experienced Senior (Civil) Engineers looking to take the next career step in taking responsibility for Engineering Design Delivery of a portfolio of Civils led Multi-D engineering design and/or Cat3 checking projects, including client liaison, managing and developing an existing design team and liaising with other engineering disciplines. CRE experience preferable, but mentoring will be provided if currently working towards this.

Role Accountabilities

Our clients’ UK Rail Team continues to add to their impressive list of project awards and recent successes have seen them secure some of the UK’s most high profile, complex and stimulating projects to complement their existing portfolio of works including Network Rail Civils and Multi-Discipline Programmes across all Network Rail Regions working directly for Network Rail, the Rail contracting community, the Rail System Alliance North, HS2 Main Works Civils Design and Checking activities & other major programmes.

The railway sector is one of our clients’ core markets. They have an enviable reputation for delivery of some of the UK’s, and indeed the World’s, most prestigious and challenging schemes.

As a result of our clients’ continuing success, they are keen to significantly grow our Rail Teams, specifically to work on the NW & Central Region on the CP6 Workbank, extensive HS2 portfolio and to position and maximise our contribution to the emerging Northern Powerhouse Rail and Midlands Hub programmes.

Qualifications & Experience

Have a BSc/BEng or MSc/MEng or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

Have achieved Chartered or Incorporated Engineer professional status, or equivalent.

Have relevant experience including leadership of the development and implementation of engineering solutions.
