About the job

Job Purpose

Carry out audits and other assignments (investigations and involvement in product development) and report on the effectiveness / adequacy of Internal Controls, compliance to the policies and procedures to safeguard the assets of the bank. Make recommendations to improve the bank’s processes.

Key Result Areas

Conduct Audits as a Auditor-in-charge / Team member relating to Trade finance, Compliance, Accounts& Finance and Centralized Corporate Operations.

Carry out the risk assessment of all functional units of the bank and subsidiaries for the purpose of preparing a risk based Audit Plan of the bank.

Prepare audit program of units in line with the internal risk based criteria to focus on and highlight key control breakdowns.

Identify weaknesses in the effectiveness of controls and key processes of the unit(s) and provide appropriate recommendations for improvement to minimize risk and safeguard the assets of the bank.

As an Auditor Incharge, manage audit team to execute audits with focus on the processes under review and effectively communicate with the Unit Management to improve deficiencies and identify opportunities for improvements.

Develop action plans and present for discussions and acceptance in Exit meetings at the end of the audit for common understanding on issues and agree to appropriate steps to be taken by the unit to ensure that these do not re-occur.

Be a Subject Matter expert in Trade and provide coaching and on the job training to junior auditors to enhance their skills to carry out audits more objectively.

Develop a cordial and professional working relationship with the internal customers for the purpose of mutual understanding, easy communication and to obtain their “buy in” on audit findings and suggested opportunities for improvement.

Ability to work in an automated environment and develop exception reports for continuous monitoring.

Participate in teams formed for streamlining processes / product development, standard Operating Procedures, etc., identify best practices and recommend opportunities for improvement in the existing processes.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience


Relevant internal audit experience in Trade Operations is a must.

Candidates with audit experience in automated environment preferred.

7-10 years’ relevant experience.

Good command over spoken and written English.
