This individual collaborates with a multi-disciplined team to support our firm’s goals, while managing the fiscal health of our projects. This individual will support the Director of Finance; additional job responsibilities include:

What You Will Do

  • Determine and set up best billing terms and invoice formats
  • Interpret financial data in contracts and billings and accurately convey them
  • Review preliminary invoices for appropriate labor, expense charges, billing rates, fees and makes appropriate changes and reclassifications.
  • Work closely with Architect and Design Project Managers, clients and consultants to discuss billing and financial issues
  • Prepare and process invoices in line with project contractual arrangements
  • Adhere to the monthly invoicing deadlines
  • Manage Subconsultant PO & AP Process through Deltek Ajera
  • Retrieve and match back-up to invoices where necessary
  • Maintain and monitor project specific budgets / spreadsheets / reports
  • Meet regularly with Architect and Design Managers to review schedule, billing, held time and collection issues
  • Develop understanding of our accounting software so that you are seen as an expert and a resource to staff
  • Cross-train and work closely with other team members so that we function as a cohesive and high performing team
  • Assist the team with any ad-hoc projects or analyses
  • Actively seek knowledge as it relates to the strategic success of projects and the Firm

Your Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting/Business Administration or comparable experience
  • 2-3 years experience in Project Accounting
  • Experience in A/E industry or a professional services firm preferred
  • Proficient using Advanced Excel, Word, E-mail and the Internet
  • Knowledge of Deltek Ajera or Deltek Vision a plus
  • Excellent organizational skills as well as a high attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels
  • Must be able to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work within a team environment and work independently
