Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Project Delivery Manager you will be responsible for the ownership and delivery of allocated tasks to support the full-fibre city build programme on behalf of our key client. The role will require effective management of assigned supervisors and operative resources. The Assistant Project Delivery Manager will be visible on-site providing clear instruction to ensure their planned deliverables are achieved on time, to cost and quality in a safe and compliant manner. The role holder will be a collaborative minded person who takes ownership of challenges and brings a clarity of instruction with a positive attitude to the project and the wider team. The APDM will thrive and excel under-pressure and lead by example in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

In this role you will deliver safe, on time delivery of the assigned tasks in the planning and building of the allocated full-fibre network build, plan and manage the end-to-end delivery of the assigned ‘project’, which may include some or all of the following: survey, works planning, civils, fibre install, and as-built / handover documentation.

You will ensure all site activities and plant are compliant to quality and safety standards in line with Kier policy, legislation, and contractual obligations, in-field supervision and coaching of site labour, identifying and ensuring operative training and accreditation requirements are achieved and ensure assigned civils/fibre teams are maximising productivity, to achieve safe and commercially viable outputs.

The completion of daily/weekly safety and quality audits will be necessary and you will need to undertake and record daily measures, and complete weekly joint measure sign-off with client representative(s). Establish and develop effective stakeholder management to include; client; highway authorities; community groups; and sub-contractors and also ensure all materials and dependencies are in place to enable the delivery to succeed safely and on time/budget.

What do we need from you?

To be successful in this role you will be experienced in the supervision/project management of civils and/or fibre install of a full-fibre build, have strong and demonstrable supervision experience, NRSWA qualification. Ideally you will have COSHH/RIDDOR/Health &Safety at Work – Knowledge of regulations and requirements, experience using Depotnet and awareness and understanding of the Communications Network Installation specifications.

You will have good people management skills, be an excellent team player with a ‘can do’ attitude, hold accountability, delivery focused, self-motivated, and performance driven. Be able to use your initiative to proactively own and resolve challenges, a solutions mindset and thrive in a fast-moving environment. You must be able to liaise effectively with Highways Authorities and 3rd party stakeholders and be confident and courteous in liaising with client representatives.
