Job summary

Imperial College is building a policy framework and technical infrastructure to strengthen its learning analytics capabilities. This will facilitate the evaluation of innovations in teaching, learning and assessment, and an expansion of education research in the College.

We are looking for a project manager to join the College’s Education Office and work with the Data Analytics, Evaluation and Monitoring (DAE&M) Group. In this role, you will be responsible for progressing the College’s Learning Analytics priorities as set by the DAE&M Group.

You will support and coordinate the establishment of a data protection, governance and ethics framework for learning analytics across the College. This will involve liaising across diverse units within the College including data and information governance, research ethics, ICT, the Faculty and Interdisciplinary Ed Tech labs, the Centre for Higher Education Research and Scholarship (CHERS), student representatives and staff and students across College. You will further support the coordination of developing and delivering learning analytics activity across the institution.

Duties and responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of projects within the Data Analytics, Evaluation and Monitoring (DAE&M) Group.
  • Be responsible for all aspects of the project management including maintenance of project files, organisation of meetings, taking minutes and monitoring follow-up actions.
  • Lead and manage the communication of project information and status to a wide range of stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Produce relevant analyses, presenting results and putting forward recommendations to College committees through the provision of briefings, presentations and written reports to facilitate effective oversight and decision making.

Essential requirements

  • Experience of tracking and reporting progress for projects
  • Experience of working collaboratively to develop and implement a solution to meet user requirements
  • Experience of working with and in diverse project teams
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple varied activities
  • Excellent analytical skills, and the ability to take a highly organised, structured and methodical approach
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships with a wide range of people at all levels of seniority
