Job Overview

Are you an Early Intervention Practitioner in Psychosis. We have exciting posts available within Hywel Dda University Health Board Early intervention in Psychosis team. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our established service in the management and support of individuals experiencing First episode in Psychosis or are determined as being in at risk mental state. We are looking for experienced mental health qualified staff to become EIP Practitioners. This post is open to registered mental health nurses, occupational therapists and social workers.

The posts will be covering the Hywel Dda University Health Board footprint of Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion and Pembrokeshire. Two of the posts we have are new posts and as such locality bases will be determined on commencement of the post. This is a Community based role where the ability and means to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

Main duties of the job

The EIP service within Hywel Dda is set to see several changes in our service delivery over the coming year including an expansion of our age range from 14 up to 35 years.

We are utilising skills for the development and management of individuals receiving support for the management of Psychotic illness which included the principles of medication management, case management, developing psychological therapeutic links with individuals and their families. We have very positive service with our service where we link with third sector providers in relation to utilising and established IPS model in relation to establishing training and employment support. As a service EIP work with reduced case load numbers in an assertive manner to establish rapport with individual and their families.

As an EIP practitioner, you will be managing individual caseloads, CTP co-ordination, medication monitoring and review, assessing new clients to the service to determine if they are at risk or first episode psychosis. The role will also include you working as part of the MDT, developing care packages and providing support and supervision to junior staff.

Numerous locations providing mental health and learning disabilities services;

Highly specialised and tertiary services commissioned by the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee, a joint committee representing seven health boards across Wales.
