About the job
HSG is a content company looking for an account manager to work across its client base and lead delivery.
We use content to turn tech and investment firms into media companies. To get there, we produce content that grows revenue, and then becomes interesting and valuable to readers beyond a target audience.
Founded in 2020, HSG has over 50 writers, content strategists, journalists and researchers in our freelancer team, and counts tens of public companies, tier-one VCs and some of the fastest-growing tech businesses in Europe and the US as clients.
Now, we’re building out a team to lead on client management, and standardising and centralising our offering, as we more than double the size of the business over the next year. This person will be both an experienced account manager and consummate B2B marketer, able to apply those techniques to build and run content functions for clients. They will also be excited about what content, and media, can look like in the twenty-first century, and the prospect of playing a role in defining that.

What the role entails
As part of the client management team, you will be responsible for constantly improving our offerings and delivery of them. And you will play a vital role in determining how best to scale the work we do. Our clients are driven by data and outcomes; our job is to continually push the boundaries of what those outcomes, and the content we feed in to get there, look like.
You will work across the HSG client base. Our fastest-growing areas are seed to series B SaaS and fintechs, and VCs.
You will create content strategies and lead the HSG strategy team – which numbers between 10 and 20 at a given moment, plus writers on accounts. You’ll be involved in the scoping process, building teams for clients and, crucially, ensuring consistency and scalability across HSG’s offerings. You’ll also know how to write, and what good and bad writing looks like.
This is an opportunity to join an early-stage startup and shape our future. In addition to focusing on our services and delivery of them, we’d love for you to be instrumental in deciding how HSG evolves. This could range from productising services, to long-form AI writers, in-house expansion beyond the written word, and building our investment portfolio.

About you
- An extraordinary account manager, with demonstrable experience.
- Experience working with early-stage, fast-growth companies, preferably in the SaaS or fintech realms.
- Knowledge of and interest in B2B marketing and content marketing, with evidence of delivery and outcomes.
- A passion for content and what that means and looks like into the future. You’ll probably also love the written word.
- A deep understanding of relevant marketing and content tools, and experience combining them with the right strategy.
- An understanding of the venture world and the software revolution that engendered it.
- You’ll have managed others before, and enjoy building and running teams.
- You’ll have started successful projects from scratch, and know how to document and learn from them.
- You relish rolling up your sleeves and diving in, while also being a strategic thinker.
- You love spinning plates.
Key responsibilities
- Formalising the HSG offering for scaling across a growing client base.
- Owning and managing multiple clients & projects across the HSG portfolio.
- Maintaining & nurturing key client relationships.
- Keeping abreast of timely and relevant developments across the markets in which clients operate.
- Understanding the competitive landscape of our clients, and how, therefore, to distinguish them.
- Constantly improving strategies across creation, distribution and measurement of content.
- Managing the writers and strategists needed to deliver for clients – providing the glue, oversight and decision-making across a project or account.
- Taking an active strategic role in the growth and development of HSG.

- Up to £55,000 a year, depending on experience
