Summary Of The Role
Leadership: The Director of Design Operations is a critical leadership role within the Design and UX group.
Enablement: It is responsible for leading and managing the team’s operations, as well as being a force multiplier that drives foundational and scalable processes.
Scaling: You will focus on building our Design & UX Ops team (hiring & developing talent) that will oversee operations across diverse disciplines (product/ux, industrial, creative, research).
Strategy: This includes defining the group’s operational strategy and mechanisms, project management processes, tool chains, culture, and more.
Governance: This role will create standards and best practices that improve our cross-functional collaboration and communication regarding workflows, project estimations, and long-range planning, appropriately prioritizing based on capacity and business needs.
Collaboration & Culture: Finally, this role requires excellent project and people management skills as they will help organize logistics and cohere creative, production, and support staff across essential branding, campaign and product initiatives.

What You’ll Accomplish
- Work with operations, engineering, product management, and other leaders to scope and build programs and tools for program management and collaboration.
- Partner with the design leadership with creating design strategy across multiple product areas.
- Elevate and enable the design team’s workflows and support the spirit of innovation
- Drive forward and grow design team culture
- Hire, develop, and lead (directly and indirectly) program managers, producers, and operations specialists to grow design & UX operations.
What We’re Looking For
- Experienced leader of agile design sprints using collaboration technology like Gdocs and Slack.
- Fluent understanding of program management, creative workflow and design production cycles.
- Masterful time management, organizational skills and executional ability.
- Awareness of industry best practice and latest technologies and tools in both product/ux & visual design, including print production and prepress considerations.
- Forge relationships with cross-functional partners by building trust among internal partners and driving influence in decision-making across the teams
- Demonstrates an awareness and sensitivity to the needs and concerns of individuals and stakeholders from diverse cultures, backgrounds and orientations.
