M&E Project Engineer – CRE (Rail)

Leeds. Yorkshire

£45,000-£55,000 + company car + Benefits

The Role:

The role of the Project Engineer / CRE will be to increase the capacity and improve the engineering quality of the region by working with engineering team and rail business. You will be reporting into the Engineering Manager. The Project Engineer / CRE will provide support and technical assurance for MEP systems, minor telecoms, LV, lighting, HVAC, heating, ventilation, and lineside systems.

You will also be a member of the review group and offer advice to support future project developments. This will include design, delivery and helping to win bids. This may involve liaising with suppliers and partners to ensure that bids and future work is won. You will engage and maintain relationships with all engineering teams across the project as well as the entire business.

There will be a huge push for innovation and delivering support within the core competences of the client business plan. The main challenge and effort will be placed on bringing design and innovation together and supporting the planning and construction of various projects. You must have knowledge of site documentation and be able to carry out alterations and assessments of the paperwork as projects progress. This will include adhering to the NR/L2/RSE/02009 regulations. QITP’s, permits and test plans will also require regular reviews as part of his role. The role is part of overall renewals and improvements that are required as part of the projects they have already won.

Basic salary is subject to experience and is accompanied with generous holiday entitlement. They will also upkeep funding for any relevant required tickets and qualification and a path that can lead to becoming Chartered or up the Engineering ladder to become a CEM.

The right candidate will also receive a vehicle or car for travel from site to site and to the office as part of the role.

About you:

A Project Engineer / CRE Engineer who has a background in the rail industry? You will ideally be qualified to a minimum of a HNC level in a relevant discipline (Electrical/Mechanical) Experience with LV systems in a station environment is essential. Have you worked for other large contractors or have operations and hands on experience from Network rail? Do you have a keen eye for design detail and have worked your way up to this level?

You will also require a full and clean UK driving license.
