Executive Administrative Assistant to the Vice President, Army Research Division (Arroyo)
An exceptional opportunity exists to provide high-level executive administrative support to the Vice President, Army Research Division, in RAND’s Washington D.C. office. This position requires discretion, excellent judgment, initiative, and professional demeanor. Seeking a candidate with strong organizational skills, capacity to work both independently and directly with the office of the Vice President, Arroyo, and its stakeholders both inside and outside of RAND. The position includes handling multiple tasks within time constraints, and the ability to prioritize a wide range of support responsibilities. There is a focus on heavy calendaring and scheduling so seeking one with flexibility, keen attention to detail as well as a level of familiarity with the DoD environment. Included is the opportunity to engage with the other corporate officers and their assistants in handling a variety of material and subject matter of a sensitive and confidential nature as well as general administrative responsibilities.
Other responsibilities at the desk include scheduling and planning meetings, events, and travel. Reviewing memos, and the ability to perform light editing is preferred. Advantageous if candidate has interest in learning about the Army and cyclical transitions. Corporate duties may also include providing assistance with corporate-related functions as well as being available to assist with any overflow work and/or to provide general back-up assistance to the executive officers, as needed.
The successful candidate will be a self-starter and work independently, exhibit good judgment, and possess the ability to multitask and prioritize with minimal direction. The position requires a minimum of six-years of high-level executive administrative experience and demonstrated exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills. A strong sense of discretion is required in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential. It is also essential that the individual be a team player and be able to demonstrate tact, courtesy, and judgment in working with all levels of individuals within and outside of RAND.
Must possess advanced computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook to produce a variety of high-quality documents in a timely, error-free fashion.
Experience: Must have a minimum of 6 years of relevant high level administrative support experience.
Education: High School Diploma or GED required. BA/BS degree preferred.
Clearance: US Citizenship is required to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
Location: Prefer Washington D.C. Office, may consider Pittsburgh Office
(Consideration may be given to work from home up to two days per week)
