EQUANS are recruiting for a Mechanical Assistant to be based in Morecambe, Lancashire. This is a full-time, fixed term role. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.

What will you deliver?

  • To support the mechanical team to fabricate and repair metal and related structures including fixed access platforms, gratings ladders and handrails.
  • Enhanced duties may include the maintenance & repair of metal doors including Nuclear Significant Safety Doors.
  • Work with appropriate line supervisors to ensure that tasks are planned and delivered to client specification and agreed service requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and company procedures, maintaining up to date knowledge of H/S and Environmental regulations

Who are we looking for?

Technical Competences:

  • Must demonstrate a methodical approach to tasks and plan accurately
  • Able to follow technical drawings and plans
  • Numerical ability for measuring and making calculations (material estimates and measurements)
  • Knowledge of mechanical fabrication
  • Knowledge of the safe operation of basic hand and power tools

Industry Qualifications Desired (dependant on operational requirements):

  • Mechanical Aptitude (Mandatory)
  • There is also an expectation to undertake further training as requested in line with the clients and Workplace Solutions operational requirements
