Position Overview

A revolution cannot be done alone, and we need the best and brightest talent to continue our growth into the new modern workplace. We are looking to expand our team by hiring a new Lead Data Engineer a team player who is ready to make the role their own and bring their own ideas and innovations to the table. Reporting to the Director of Software Development you will be supporting our Product & Technology team by architecting and building Analytics tools based on Data Science and Machine Learning capabilities that provide insights to empower businesses to be successful and reduce risks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate business, analytics and reporting requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Lead mid- and low-level design efforts.
  • Design and build data analytics and reporting platform in the cloud.
  • Develop automated, scalable, near real-time data processing pipelines.
  • Implement data quality gate to ensure the accuracy of ingested data.
  • Mentor junior and medior members of team to follow best practices. Conduct code reviews.

About You

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in STEM.
  • You have 5+ years of data engineering experience.
  • You already led a team of software/data engineers or mentored/supervised junior engineers.
  • You feel comfortable in an agile environment, where features were delivered following the CI/CD best practices.
  • You have prior exposure to Databricks.
  • You have development experience in Spark (Python, Scala, or Java) and end-to-end, near real-time ETL pipelines.
  • You bring along your experience from past projects, where you were using with both SQL and NoSQL technologies.
  • You have a good understanding of data modeling techniques.
  • Confidence with Microsoft Azure (or other cloud) platform.
  • Understanding of data governance and data security practices.
  • Power BI (or other reporting tool) knowledge is a plus.
  • Prior experience with on-demand analytics systems is a plus.
  • Data mining/analytics/machine learning experience is a plus.
