About the job

Supervise employees and activities across areas of Facilities Operations to ensure adherence with service and quality standards in all functions concerned.

Special focus for this position on Fleet Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise employees administrative, operational and maintenance activities pertaining to office- and fleet management, telecommunications, IT and event support and EHS efforts to ensure compliance and service quality in multiple geographical locations
  • Lead strategy implementation and complex improvement projects, partner with internal stakeholders assuring appropriate system and data quality controls are in place to ensure adherence with local and EW policies and standards
  • Provide regular progress and status reports as well as operational metrics to management and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Establish work schedules, rosters and team performance metrics, including monitoring output and adjusting schedules of internal employees and contractors to ensure incessant maintenance of the service spectrum at all times.
  • Negotiation and monitoring of service level agreements for all relevant sites
  • Monitor material and labor variances to meet established standards, including proposing resolutions to mediate shortfalls
  • Guide and mentor facilities staff
  • Conduct performance reviews, including resolving performance issues
  • Responsible for all project outcomes of assigned unit/group of employees
  • Ensure appropriate staffing and training for all positions
  • Other incidental duties

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Office Administration or Business Administration or equivalent job experience including in-depth technical knowledge in assigned work area, and substantial experience in related mechanical systems, and full responsibility for all personnel including hire/fire authority and handling all aspects of employee relations required
  • 5+ years of proven history in similar role
  • Fluent German and English speaking and writing

Additional Skills:

  • Full understanding of all aspects of processes and equipment used across areas of responsibility.
  • Experience leading and fostering multi-cultural teams with cultural sensitivity
  • Ability to supervise, lead, and/or mentor employees
  • Proven project management expertise
  • Experience working in a medical device industry, preferred
  • Knowledge of and adherence to Edwards Environmental Health and Safety and Quality guidelines as they relate to department.
  • Ability to work and excel within a fast paced, dynamic, and constantly changing work environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal relationship skills; possessing strong collaboration skills in partnering with cross functional stakeholders in order to achieve objectives, as well as mediating and negotiating the needs of other areas to achieve consensus
  • Proven expertise in both Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
