The Maintenance Utility Worker operates forklifts and stock chasers to assist Engine Maintenance by transporting all engine parts going to the various shops for rework and cleaning. The position is also responsible for monitoring outgoing shelves that may contain AOGs and other hot parts that need to be taken to stores/Logistics or shipped for outside repair. Aside from part transportation, this MUE is also responsible for collecting empty boxes, pallets and other miscellaneous items to keep Engine Maintenance and its halls clear of debris.

Summary Of Responsibilities (not Comprehensive Of All Tasks)

  • Processes and distributes all Kanban, Shop route, Expedite and AOGs.
  • Transports Engine parts routed to rework using a Forklift and Motorized cart.
  • Monitors outgoing shelves for hot parts such as AOGs.
  • Removes empty boxes, Pallets and other debris from the hallway.
  • Practices safety-conscious behavior s in all operational processes and procedures.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Must meet the physical requirements which qualify a person to perform essential job functions (lift 50lbs).
  • Must be able to multi-task and work under pressure. 
  • Must be a team player and a self-starter.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays and either rotating or fixed shifts.
  • Must be performing satisfactorily in present position.
  • Where permitted by applicable law, must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire to be considered for U.S.-based job, if not currently employed by Delta Air Lines, Inc.
  • Previous Forklift, Motorized cart experience.
