Position Summary:

The District Trainer’s role is to train all sales associates on Conn’s sales process, policies and procedures, thereby creating productive and knowledgeable sales associates.

Responsibilities

The District Trainer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating all new hire training on Conn’s sales process (5 Steps to a Sale), systems, policies and procedures. The District Trainer is responsible for creating productive/knowledgeable sales associates, who quickly achieve sales goals above the company’s minimum monthly sales quota, reduce new hire retention, and no shows. Other job duties include:

  • All New Hire training oversight and execution
  • Train the trainers (Store Management/ Specialist)
  • Store training oversight and execution
  • Ongoing and remedial training
  • Create and maintain a positive and professional learning environment.
  • Effectively teach Conn’s processes and procedures in large group settings and on an individual basis.
  • Consistently demonstrate and role play to provide a hands-on, interactive learning environment.
  • Administer and grade testing and assessments to ensure trainee retention and understanding.
  • Review low performance results and/or other training issues with identified trainee(s) and perform additional training when needed.
  • Assist with underperforming stores/markets as well as provide on-going training throughout Conn’s organization.
  • Assist in ongoing development and updating of Conn’s training program and materials.
  • Must be able to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills excellent writing, organizational and presentation skills required.
  • Outstanding computer skills, specifically MS Office.
  • Effective time management is a MUST; exceptional follow-up skills are required.
  • Capable of satisfying goals/training needs/deadlines.
  • Leadership skills to effectively train associates in any setting and provide a consistent example of the successful execution and following of Conn’s processes and procedures.
  • Must be comfortable and effective at speaking in front of and training large groups, as well as working closely with associates on an individual basis.
  • Must possess a thorough understanding of Conn’s sales process and applicable policies, procedures, and training materials.

Qualifications

  • Preferred 2+ years training experience, with 2+ years in management (experience preferably in the retail industry).
  • Experienced in training and/or managing the training process.
  • Stable work history.
  • Must be able to travel locally with travel expectations up to 30% (to any and all of Conn’s existing and potential markets).
