Position Summary:

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for timely entry of payable invoices for on-time payments to vendors

Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Specialist responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of payment vouchers and other required documentation for complete processing of invoices and credits as dictated by company’s procedures and any SOX requirements.
  • Troubleshoot issues related to vendor payments and/or credits.
  • Review aging reports when issued and take action to resolve items.
  • Work vendor statements on a weekly basis to identify any payment/credit issues.
  • Handle day-to-day routine activities of the department as directed by the Lead as well as assisting co-workers as needed.
  • Data entry of daily received invoices and credits in company systems.
  • Perform and verify matching process between purchase orders issued and invoices received.
  • Identify and resolve in a timely manner any discrepancies found on invoices through the matching process related to quantities and/or pricing of items
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working within this or related field.
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel and basic Word skills in conjunction with basic personal computer skills.
  • Excellent and accurate data entry skills along with 10 key capabilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Very organized and able multi-task and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must have the aptitude for independent problem resolution.
  • Ability and willingness to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work with mild to moderate supervision.
