Coco Paving is a division of the Coco Group, a vertically integrated heavy civil infrastructure and development company with almost 50 years of expertise.

As Human Resources Manager, you will support the growth and development of our company. Reporting to the HR Director, the HR Manager will be managing the Pension and Benefits administration, recruitment process, and provide excellent HR services and HR advice to our North American construction company of 3000 employees.


· The successful candidate will be responsible for the compliance and administration of the company Pension and Benefits Plans, including DCPP Pension contribution changes, enrolments, terminations, billings and remittances and reconciliation;

· Liaise with financial and Insurance service providers for Pension and Benefits;

· Administer employment status changes to Payroll, with an HR Assistant;

· Respond to management and employee inquiries regarding company policies, employment standards, information requests, and provide services and processing in leave events such as disability claims, leaves of absence, employment letters;

· Manage the Leave Planner system, produce weekly reports, monitor the effective and proper utilization of the program by users, support users with training and troubleshooting as required;

· Work with the Health and Safety department in employment matters;

· Utilize HRIS and Payroll systems within an enterprise-wide system, review integrity of data of processed status changes, develop and reports for HR analysis and tracking;

Utilize Benefits and Pension administration systems for billing, and membership maintenance; participate in benefits renewal reviews;

· Support management with the recruiting process including; drafting job postings, job descriptions, candidate selection, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and onboarding; Manage the co-op hiring process across Eastern Canada;

· Provide mentoring, training and supervision of HR admin. staff;

· Maintain Total Reward programs including short term bonuses, service and recognition programs, and preparation of reports for eligibility and processing;

· Produce and report on Staff resourcing and headcount reports, and other ad hoc reports for analysis, for management and operations, and for internal audit purposes;

· Other HR projects and duties as required.


HRPA designation

Pension and Benefits designation preferred

Minimum 7 years experience in Human Resources, Pension and Benefits administration

Strong customer service skills

Demonstrates operational excellence

Experience in a medium to large size company

Union experience required

Must have strong organization skills, able to prioritize and work efficiently and effectively in a dynamic, changing, and growing, fast-paced environment

Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills including excel, word and power point

Bilingual in french and english language would be an asset, however not required.
