Position Summary

The Senior Desktop Engineering role will be responsible for the analysis, design, engineering, management, implementation and expertise of the windows and MAC based desktop computing environment. This position will work closely with other engineers and business stakeholders to develop, integrate and deliver solutions that meet technical and business requirements. The Senior Desktop Engineer owns the workstation experience and performance and will be responsible for collaborating with engineering team members to improve the end user experience.

Job Responsibilities

  • Identify areas for endpoint improvement and work with other teams to engineer and implement solutions
  • Engineer, implement and maintain software distribution automation solutions.
  • Design and perform workstation benchmarks to measure workstation performance between models and over time
  • Provide technical expertise and consultation in the areas of hardware & software support, remote access, local/network printers, hardware & software installations, computer upgrades and imaging.
  • Security harden endpoints to create a more secure and reliable endpoint without compromising performance
  • Understand, apply, and recommend standards and procedures and propose ways to improve the desktop environment.
  • Solves problems, aids other departments, answers questions about technical functionality, and provides technical support.
  • Participate in large projects requiring analysis and design skills.
  • Write technical documentation and keep existing documentation up to date.
  • Keeps current in the desktop field and stays informed and aware of latest industry practices and developments in desktop and software deployment.
  • Potential to work outside of normal hours as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience required, which should include a combination of the following:
  • Technical hands-on experience with Windows 10 and MAC OS, Office365, application packaging, analyzing and troubleshooting desktop performance and reliability issues.
  • Experience working with system tools such as Microsoft Configuration Manager and JAMF/Apple Business Manager, InTune and PowerShell.
  • Strong understanding of group policy and active directory.
  • Experienced in researching and resolving technical problems of moderate to complex severity.
  • Self-motivated to identify, track, and remediate stability and performance issues independently.
  • Promotes and actively shares knowledge through good communications, peer training, and written documentation.
  • Conditions of Employment: Individuals must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification. Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with JAMF, SCCM, InTune and CMG
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment support 1500+ end users
