About This Role

Risk, compliance and assurance (RCA) helps BT succeed by providing an independent view to senior management and the Board that the controls the business relies on are working and effective. The improvements we identify help to ensure BT meets its objectives, delivers on its promise and lives its values, thereby enabling BT to better serve its customers and grow its business.

The RCA Specialist Division X supports the implementation of the BT risk management and compliance strategies and frameworks in our Division X business unit, specifically in the IoT/5G Solutions and Health Solutions space; They will support the team’s Senior Managers and Directors to ensure potential risks and regulatory requirements (both for Telecoms and non-Telecoms regulation) that could impact the profitability or operations of the Unit are identified, the threats assessed, and plans put in place for if things go wrong. They will also support Division X to comply with internal codes of conduct, policies, standards and procedures. Working with key stakeholders within Division X, within RCA and in other business units, they will support with managing risk and compliance requirements in the most appropriate and effective manner.

You’ll Have The Following Responsibilities

Risk

  • Support the roll out of the BT risk management framework, including new standards and controls, within Division X
  • Support Division X in designing, implementing and running effective controls to manage risks.

Compliance

  • Help design and manage the compliance program for Enterprise including risk prioritisation and defining 3LOD roles and responsibilities
  • Execute day-to-day compliance tasks for Division X as required (e.g. G&H reviews, High Risk Third Party reviews)

Assurance

  • As needed, provide support to Group Internal Audit to help them successfully carry out their work in Enterprise
  • Monitor and report on non-RCA assurance activity impacting Enterprise
  • Support RCA Senior Managers in providing assurance on the implementation and effectiveness of the risk and compliance management systems

Systems

  • Drive and support implementation of new risk and compliance systems in Enterprise.

Governance and Reporting

  • Input into and help draft the quarterly reports for Audit and Risk Committees and Enterprise risk reviews.
  • Tailor data management for Enterprise to the requirements set by RCA Operations
  • Collect, manage and prepare consolidated management information relevant to monitoring compliance with requirements and performance of controls, where available and appropriate.
  • Provide training/coaching support on RCA processes and requirements to the Front Line and first line when required.
  • Participate in risk, compliance and assurance working groups as required

You’ll Have The Following Skills & Experience

  • Ability to engage with users to interpret requirements and deliver solution specifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulatory topics including communications regulation, anti-bribery, trade sanctions and financial services.
  • Experience with delivering complex reporting to customer requirements.
  • Ability to interpret data into meaningful insight, to inform decision making.
  • Strong SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint skills and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively internally across large organisations
  • Ability to work closely with and partner with the business within a highly complex challenging environment.

Experience You Would Be Expected To Have

  • Experience with risk and/or compliance management, assurance and the three lines of defence model within a complex international organisation.
  • Experienced in independently identifying, owning and developing solutions to the business / team’s needs, leveraging internal or external resources.
  • Excellent collaborator: has a track record of working brilliantly as part of a team.
  • Experienced in facilitating / delivering learning programmes
  • Experience of conducting analysis and designing reports.
