The Associate Director of Market Insights and Competitive Intelligence (CI), embedded within the franchises, will be responsible for coordinating and executing primary and secondary market research across healthcare professional, patient, and payer domains. This role will leverage knowledge of the therapeutic area-specific pharmaceutical business (including competitor positioning and reach) to provide analyses and drive decisions on various marketing and positioning choices.

What will you be responsible for?

  • Plan, execute, and deliver routine and ad-hoc primary and secondary market research for franchises/function
  • Design questionnaires and studies
  • Leverage research findings to inform pre- and post- launch brand strategy and guide various tactical decisions, such as brand messaging
  • Develop and present reports and analyses from data collected through research to answer business questions and determine brand P/L & investment optimization
  • Provide inputs based on market research and competitive intelligence finding to align the CA services roadmap to franchise strategy
  • Keep a pulse on HCP, consumer, and payer landscape across multiple therapeutic areas and work with the Business Insights Group to proactively keep franchises informed of their competitive landscape and alerted of competitive warning signs
  • Build functional expertise and core business capabilities within primary market research
  • Maintain deep expertise in customer segmentation across HCPs, patients, and payers
  • Design and conduct well-structured research based on business requests for evaluation of HCP, consumer, and payer behavior, including but not limited to brand preference, demand estimates, and messaging efficacy
  • Conduct cross-market analyses to assess the competitive landscape and inform strategies to differentiate
  • Build strong, cross-functional relationships to leverage Novartis’ expertise to accomplish business goals and objectives
  • Manage strategic vendor support team, providing functional expertise to guide best-in-class service delivery

Minimum Requirements

What will you bring to the role?

  • Undergraduate degree in a STEM major with advanced degree a plus
  • 3+ years hands-on market research or brand analytics experience supporting ASCVD therapeutic areas.
  • Extensive experience designing and executing research and analyses
  • Deep understanding of segmentation within pharmaceutical industry
  • Demonstrated experience analyzing complex situation and processes and effectively integrating and synthesizing the data to form a complete cohesive picture
  • Proven self-starter with high standards of excellence and an innovative mind
  • Demonstrated leadership and expertise in managing a team, demonstrated leadership skills; decision maker, effective problem solver; strategic thinker.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize information to develop recommendations and communicate clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and consistently meet deadlines
  • Excels at interacting with a diverse group of people, all levels of management, including senior leadership
  • Project management experience
