JOB SUMMARY

The Warehouse Distribution Assistant’s main responsibility is to sort pallets of full cylinders into designated areas. This individual will also fill liquid and propane gases, provide support in the branch, the gas plant, the store and the warehouse, and serve as a backup driver as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Sort cylinders into designated areas using a forklift and following OSHA regulations.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Roll cylinders off of pallets into designated areas.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Prepare pallets of empty cylinders to return to Gas Plant.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Prepare cylinders to be filled by removing cylinder caps and inspecting cylinders for damage. <li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Securely connect the manifold connection to the cylinder valve.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Release residual pressure from cylinders and fills cylinders following safe operating procedures.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Verify correct labels are present, removes and replaces old labels, and paints over all foreign labeling.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Use a scale to assist filling with certain gases/liquid gases.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Fill cylinders to the appropriate weight without over-pressurizing them.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Install valve protection caps.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Serve as a backup driver as needed.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Pick-up customer tanks and return them upon being filled.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Respond to emergency call-ins and deliver product to customers.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Stock the dock with full cylinders of compressed gases.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Conduct empty cylinder inventories as needed.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Comply with all company employment, fleet and safety policies.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Follow all DOT and OSHA regulations.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Complete and corrects all company paperwork.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Turn all paperwork in on time.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Perform daily forklift inspections and report any repairs needed.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Support fellow members of the branch and perform other related duties as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >High School Diploma or Equivalent required.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Class B CDL preferred.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Hazmat preferred.<li style= font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); >Must be at least 21 years of age.
