About the job

Description

Prime Video is changing the way millions of people watch movies, TV shows and Live TV, with an incredible selection of titles available to watch on Fire TV, Kindle Fire, smart TVs, mobile devices, game consoles, Internet-connected PCs, Macs, Blu-ray players and set-top-boxes. This is an exciting time in video entertainment, with new business models and innovative experiences emerging. Prime Video is on the forefront of disrupting the video entertainment industry, launching Prime Video worldwide in over 200 countries and territories, enabling video providers worldwide to make their titles available to Amazon customers with the same monetization options and delivery quality available to major studios through streaming live events like the NFL Thursday Night Football. And it’s still Day 1.

We are looking for a talented Principal Technical Program Manager to support Prime Video in launching the NFL’s first ever national broadcast package available exclusively through a streaming provider. This is a strategic role to shape and deliver our technical strategy in developing and delivering this offering to customers and to innovate on the CX Prime Video’s sports fans enjoy. This role is inherently cross-functional – you will work closely with engineering, project management, design, operations, finance, legal, business development, customer service, content acquisition, operations, and executive teams to bring products to market, develop and grow business opportunities, and enhance our customer experience. A successful candidate will be highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization, and adept at synthesizing a variety of inputs to deliver high quality products and solutions. You will own regular communication with senior leadership on technology, dependency management, risk mitigation and program health.

The ideal candidate should have thrived and succeeded in delivering broadly adopted technology products or services in a very high growth environment. You should be a strong leader who can prioritize well, communicate clearly and compellingly, and understand how to drive a high level of focus and excellence. You should have keen business sense and also have developed a deep understanding of technology. Qualified candidates have experience defining programs, mapping product requirements to engineering functional specifications, leading large cross functional and cross organizational programs, and successfully delivering complex programs at high scale.

Basic Qualifications

  • Architectural design or system design experience independent of an architect
  • 7+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams
  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience driving roadmap strategy and definition
  • 7+ years of technical program management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience delivering digital streaming media products
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs and evaluate opportunistic new ideas with internal and external partners
  • Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, design, product, and marketing/business counterparts to deliver online products/service
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree or other advanced degree in Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
