LOCATION OF POSITION

MDH, Deer’s Head Hospital Center, Salisbury, MD

POSITION DUTIES

This position provides support and assistance to the operations department. This position handles a variety of activities requiring knowledge of the facility, regulations, and policies and procedures governing the Center. This position necessitates independent judgment in resolving administrative problems and inquiries. The position requires advanced computer skills, focus on detail/goals and handling time-sensitive projects and development of special reports.

NOTICE: Federal COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement for Certain Maryland Department of Health (MDH) Employees. Per the emergency regulation issued by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) (86 FR 61555), and as permitted to go into effect by the U.S. Supreme Court on January 13, 2022, all staff at the Maryland Department of Health’s CMS certified health care facilities are required to receive either a first or single COVID-19 dose and provide proof of their vaccination status by January 29, 2022. If selected for this position, candidates will be required to provide proof of vaccination status or have an approved religious or medical exemption prior to appointment.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.

Experience: Two years of experience performing clerical, clerical technical, or secretarial work.

Notes

  • Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year of the required experience.
  • Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a non-commissioned officer involving staff work requiring regular use of independent judgment and analysis in applying and interpreting rules and regulations in accordance with agency laws and policies on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

The Desired Candidate Should Possess The Following

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Drive, Docs and Sheets
  • Experience performing administrative duties in a hospital, long term care or government setting

Special Requirements

Candidates may be responsible for providing their own transportation as needed to access meetings, remote locations, and job destinations as assigned.
