The BizOps Infrastructure Team is responsible for

  • Managing a global multi-site IT infrastructure consisting of Windows and MacOS deployments, and AWS Cloud, a VMWare Software Defined Networking WAN, Mist WiFi, Meraki LAN and our remote working OpenVPN Cloud.
  • Ensuring the smooth operation of the end user device deployment technology stacks via scripting and IaC where possible (Microsoft Intune, Jamf and Google workspace).
  • The 3rd line escalation point for complex IT problems and support of the greater bizOps support and service desk team
  • Management of SSO and onboarding new SaaS apps into SSO, including the configuration of new SAML integrations into the business
  • The patching and updating all end user devices and related networks and servers
  • The management and delivery of IT and Infrastructure projects that improve our processes, networks, device deployments and cloud and SaaS services.
  • Building helpful applications and scripts that automate manual processes
  • Driving automation, Infrastructure as Code and implementing InfoSec and DevOps best practices

As an Infrastructure Engineer you’ll:

  • Have a good foundational knowledge of writing and using scripts which has been applied in production environments
  • Have expert knowledge of troubleshooting and root cause analysis across end user devices, networks, servers and software
  • Be the first point of contact for the bizOps support team when they raise infrastructure related tickets, and work with senior support engineers to close problem record
  • Know how to manage small to medium projects from start to finish
  • Have a passion for learning and deploying new technologies and enjoy getting hands-on with configuring new SaaS applications with SAML
  • Understand cloud technology and architecture, with experience building servers in a modern cloud environment such as AWS.
  • Thrive working in a high performance team, being a collaborative team player who is able to deliver effectively.
  • Be a natural and fast learner who loves the challenge of getting hands on new technology
  • Be organised and able to work autonomously with meticulous attention to detail when it comes to testing and deploying in production environments
  • Be a clear communicator who takes pride in process documentation and handovers

Responsibilities include:

  • Owning the patching process that keeps all our end user devices and servers uptodate. Pushing out urgent updates across all devices.
  • Managing the infrastructure ticket queue, working collaboratively with the team to ensure tickets and problem records are closed within effective timelines.
  • Reviewing github pull requests and monitoring infrastructure slack channels
  • Updating our suite of applications packages and device policies across our end user deployments
  • Support our AWS cloud deployments with Windows and Linux system administration
  • System administration and improvement of our SaaS LAN/WAN and WiFi network
  • Configuring SAML and onboarding new applications into our single sign on and deployment platforms
  • Administration of Google suite, Zoom, and other SaaS platforms
  • Working on projects related to the improvement of infrastructure services
  • Highlighting areas for automation and continuous improvement and pushing their prioritisation (eg areas requiring refactoring or improvements)
  • Collaborating with the BizOps Support team as an escalation point for tickets, and mentoring junior team members in being someone to look up to
  • Keeping up to date with advancements and best practices in IT Infrastructure
  • Covering on-call and out of hours systems support occasionally

What we’re looking for:

  • A fast learner with experience in a modern IT Infrastructure environment who can provide administration, support and project delivery expertise based around SaaS and PaaS environments
  • A wide range of experience with Windows, mac and linux IT systems, as well as networks across on premise and cloud infrastructure
  • Someone who can read and write scripts that automate system tasks, such as Bash or PowerShell or other languages
  • Proven experience working with version control for scripts, such as Github
  • Experience managing clients with Intune\Autopilot and Azure AD
  • Experience managing macOS in large deployments
  • Someone who has demonstrable experience managing small to medium projects from start to finish
  • Knowledge implementing or supporting at least some of these cloud and SaaS technology stacks: Google Workspace/Apps, Zoom, JumpCloud, Okta, AWS, Intune, Automox or other large-scale SaaS based products
  • Experience testing, deploying and updating/patching software to end user device fleets across windows and/or macs
