The Role Objective

This role will support the Head of Executive Search in the delivery of GroupM’s Executive Search proposition for the UK market.

With a strong perspective on the external talent landscape and deep insights into GroupM’s business priorities, you will develop search strategies and lead engagements to position GroupM for success today and well into the future.

You will help in the delivery of senior hires across GroupM, our centralised operating companies (Xaxis, Finecast, Inca) and media agencies (MediaCom, Wavemaker, Mindshare, m/SIX); leading all areas of assignment delivery from initial brief taking through to offer management.

You will also support the Head of Executive Search in the delivery of C-Suite level assignments across our Group, focusing on areas such as market mapping, candidate reach out strategy and candidate assessment.

The role will also play a fundamental part in driving diverse leadership talent pipelines with a view to succession planning for business-critical positions.

This is a high-profile role that offers the incumbent an opportunity for senior stakeholder visibility as well as being central to shaping and influencing an important aspect of GroupM’s growth ambitions.

The role requires an experienced, commercially focused leadership hiring professional with deep expertise working across diverse, high growth, high skills operating environments – with proven ability to deliver a high touch service to internal and external stakeholders alike.

The role will report into the Head of Executive Search and be based in our Holborn office.


  • Support the Head of Executive Search in the delivery of 50-100 Senior hires per year across the GroupM UK network by managing an open requisition count of 5-10 roles at any one time.
  • Execute the senior hiring process ensuring that all key milestones have been achieved.
  • Support the Head of Executive Search in developing and evolving candidate assessment frameworks and methodologies.
  • Devise and implement long-term talent pipelining strategies that tap into diverse talent pools across the media and ad-tech space, developing innovative engagement strategies to open dialogue opportunities with these talent pools.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of future leaders (internally and externally) that aligns to the organisational strategy, mapped to future capability needs and reflects the intersectionality of modern Britain.
  • Aid in the development of candidate assessment frameworks for key role types across the organisation.
  • Manage key senior relationships as a trusted partner and valued advisor, building a deep understanding of the business, role requirements and desired candidate profiles.
  • Build talent pipelines in growing business areas such as data & analytics, ad-tech, addressable TV and ecommerce.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of the employer brand and EVP at a senior level to position GroupM UK and its agencies as a company where the world’s best leaders work.
  • Support the Head of Executive Search in managing external vendors for highly specialised roles.

Required Experience

  • Experience in full cycle recruiting for mid-senior level talent, either from an in-house or executive search background – ideally within the media and/or ad-tech sector.
  • Preferably has experience / knowledge recruiting in the areas of data, analytics, technology and/or product.
  • Demonstrable talent mapping and research capabilities.
  • Comprehensive behavioural-based interviewing and candidate assessment experience.
  • Experience in innovative approaches to sourcing leaders including use of resourcing platforms, attraction tools and techniques.
  • Demonstrable experience in recruiting passive candidates. Possess the mentality to profile people, gauge chemistry of candidates for fit and understand their motivation, rather than sell a role.
  • Ability to execute recruiting strategy, including employer promotion in the marketplace, candidate management, diversity sourcing, and interview process management.
  • Experience of working in a highly matrixed organisation.
  • Experience leading Senior Hiring & creating Executive Search talent strategies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Good judgment and executive presence and the ability to interface effectively with and advise senior executives.
  • Strong consultative skills to partner with hiring managers and convert candidates.
