Who We Are

Toronto Foundation (TF) is a registered charity and one of 191 Community Foundations in Canada. We are home to close to 900 community-minded philanthropists and collectively administer $780 million in charitable assets. Together with our fundholders, we granted over $21 million in 2021 to organizations working to improve the quality of life in Toronto. We are committed to listening, learning and working in partnership with communities and invite you to join us in tackling the inequities we face in our city. We are an ideal match if you seek purpose in your work and want to contribute to a small, values-driven team with a strong culture of collaboration.

Who You Are and What We Need

You are a digital marketing strategist who excels at synthesizing complex language into compelling content and who’s increased audience engagement through direct digital communications. You will leverage those skills to help attract and more deeply engage fundholders as part of our annual series of donor education events. Always one for iterative improvements, you value data and are able to both mine and use metrics to push for new learnings and deeper success particularly when it comes to websites, campaigns, social media and e-newsletters.

As a member of the broader community engagement team, you will provide communications counsel and support to the foundation’s discretionary granting programs, research priorities, learning events, and also provide critical support to development, legacy (bequests) and fundholder engagement initiatives.

During this contract you’ll also be responsible for several key deliverables. The fall release of our second annual social capital research report will be the focus of our largest campaign for the year and will require you to think critically and strategically about how to engage new stakeholders and existing ones more deeply. Our hope is to host this launch in person, but also to increase online engagement.

Also this fall we will recruit new and existing fundholders for Class of 2023, the next in an annual series of education programming. You will help equip the development team with marketing materials to create excitement about the learning journey, and support all related events in 2022-2023.

Your closest teammates will be the director, communications; the digital coordinator who will report to you; and the public relations officer. Your success in this role will be reflected by your creativity, strategic thinking, people and internal client management and ability to communicate effectively. Beyond that, we will provide all the supports to ensure you have a workplace that values your voice and enables you to thrive.
