About the job

The Job

Audience Origin is a key product at Choreograph, a global data products and technology company.

We are looking for a Survey & Insights Manager to help build our insight capability and work across GroupM and its agencies, using our own proprietary Audience Origin data. The role is diverse with a wide range of internal global and local stakeholders.

The Team

Audience Origin is a global data service, providing an unprecedented depth of understanding of the human mindset, through a connected data foundation.

It has a unique combination of panel-based data, digital data, and client data for deep audience understanding and activation and features a globally consistent Core Survey at its centre that feeds global and local planning tools while delivering audience insights, including niche audiences.

Created in collaboration with the world’s leading media agencies (Mindshare, MediaCom, Wavemaker, Essence, m/SIX) and GroupM, Audience Origin uses a scaled and flexible approach, allowing marketers to access the data they need while also linking to their own data (whether it’s CRM, segment, journey, or tracking) via data fusions.

The Audience Origin team currently consists of 5 team members, working in close collaboration with GroupM and WPP agencies.

What are the role and responsibilities?

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing all elements of our quarterly Audience Origin consumer survey in 74 markets through the full project lifecycle. This includes working in a strong collaborative partnership with the project team, delivering a high-quality project, right first time, on time, against project financials and budgets
  • Identifying project risks and developing risk mitigation plans, managing changes in project scope and providing alternate solutions.
  • Liaising with key global and local stakeholders to understand, refine, prioritise, and actionable insight and research requirements
  • Facilitating the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables with senior stakeholders
  • Stay up to date with all project handling/progress issues, resolve problems and implement solutions quickly. Communicate issues and key findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Presenting analysis and recommendations to both senior global and local stakeholders, and driving action to achieve results
  • Helping to define and evolve our insight and analytics offering to our business stakeholders
  • Proactively coaching, pairing with and mentoring team members and delivering training to local stakeholders
  • Taking a critical hands-on role in product discovery, research and experimentation
  • Acting as our front-line data representative – collaborating with our analyst and agency teams to support product delivery and surrounding analytics

Skills we need

  • Extensive experience in working and managing the full quant research cycle and in developing and landing actionable insights
  • Strong knowledge of market research methodologies and demonstrable project management experience delivering complex multi-country projects, including an understanding of process improvement and lean techniques
  • Research design – you know the strengths and weaknesses of different research methodologies and techniques. You are an expert in weighting the design of the survey data and can advise the best solutions.
  • A creative thinker with the ability to be hands-on with data and interpret large datasets, tell the story behind the numbers and translate this into actionable insights
  • Experience across a number of analytical tools or languages (e.g. SPSS, Telmar) to deliver analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with data visualisation tools/techniques (e.g. Tableau) and an understanding of how to clearly communicate the results of data analysis to different stakeholders
  • Self-motivated – self-starting, able to work both independently and in conjunction with team members, locally and globally. Enthusiasm and flexibility to work on a variety of projects are necessary, as well as the ability to rapidly acquire new domain familiarity.
  • Strong team spirit – thrives on working as part of an enthusiastic and energetic team, inspiring others and keen to learn new skills from other disciplines to drive thinking further
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to engage people at all levels in the business
  • Intrepid outlook – have sought to broaden their horizons via work, social or personal exploits, showing true grit and a desire to push themselves outside of their comfort zone.
  • Languages would be an additional asset, although not compulsory

Attitudes we want:

You should cover most or all of these elements

You should be:

  • Fundamentally interested in people rather than data – Interested in the world around you and what makes people behave the way they do and how data and research can get you closer to understanding it.
  • Able to work well as part of a team – you understand that one person can’t do or know everything and so you are willing to explore alternative routes, even if they are outside your comfort zone.
  • Excited by telling stories from information by weaving different sources together into a convincing whole.
  • Able to think critically and with curiosity about information sources – about why things might not be as they seem – and unwilling to just want to take things on trust
  • Sensitive to how context changes things and willing to use empathy to interpret information in the light of what they know about people
  • Able to communicate ideas well, both verbally and written.

What We Offer

  • Inspiring people: all our people have exceptional and diverse backgrounds, research and brand experience so there is a wealth of wisdom to learn from as well as the opportunity to inspire others
  • Generous package: you can enjoy extensive benefits such as Private healthcare, Mind & Body allowance and Sabbaticals to name but a few
  • Mentor mentality: we operate a buddy-system, where everyone is appointed a mentor to ensure they are well nurtured and able to perform to the highest standards
  • Training: tailored to individual’s needs to equip them with the skills and knowledge to drive their own development and push thinking further for our clients
  • License to play: a fun and social environment, where play and experimentation are strongly encouraged – anything that broadens horizons, builds team spirit and sparks inspiration is highly valued
